I am now in my second year of university and for our second term we have had to organize our own exhibition spaces. Within our group we have had to sort people into different sections of tasks in order to cover all the areas which go into the show; Advertising, sponsorship, curating, entertainment, invigilating and poster design.
We looked at many places but none of them were within our price range, therefore we ended up joining with another group and got the noel street workshop. It was a lovely space and fortunately we did not have to do much clearing. The name of our exhibition was uncovered, below is a sample of our poster. 'Still Here' is the name of the other groups exhibition.
We really loved the final outcome of the poster, it took a couple of edits in terms of colour and quality but we got there in the end. Below is a shot of my final images up on the wall, it was more difficult to hang the photos than it seemed. I would have liked to frame the images or mount them but our tutor told us if our expense was an issue it wasn't a problem with it only being second year.
Below are some images of us all setting up, I understand the importance of the curators job now. They have to make sure the work flows around the room, in terms of subject matter and visual. A lot of the feedback we received was that the work was successful in the way we had put it all together.

In terms of food and entertainment, our group put together a certain amount of money and we managed to get lots of food and drink from Aldi. For the entertainment we got a band in, the main guys name is Martyn Stone. They did a brilliant performance and it was perfect in the atmosphere of the exhibition.
